Since our founding, we’ve been committed to equipping developers with the knowledge and skills to write secure code. In 2022, we strengthened our impact when HackEDU joined forces with Security Journey, uniting two leaders in secure code training under a single mission.

Dan Newton

Chief Executive Officer
Dan Newton, a seasoned executive with nearly two decades of experience in managed services and enterprise technology, leads Security Journey's strategic vision.

Before joining Security Journey, Newton was the CEO of CDS, a top provider of multi-vendor support services for data centers, where he led the expansion of its service offerings and customer base. Before CDS, Newton was the CEO of HiveIO, a company specializing in intelligent virtualization technology.

Michael Borton

Chief Financial Officer

Mike has served as a CFO for both public (NYSE), and multiple VC/PE high-growth-backed companies in the Cybersecurity, Healthcare, Business Intelligence, and Data Analytics industries. Security Journey is Mike’s third time as a CFO of a Cybersecurity company, with the previous two cybersecurity companies being acquired by IBM and Proofpoint.

Mike has also been the CFO of a European-based company and worked overseas in Paris and London. Before these roles, Mike spent over a decade in financial leadership roles for oil and gas services and technology companies worldwide.

Jason Brubaker

VP of Engineering

Jason Brubaker has 20+ years of experience in the web application and SaaS world, first as a software engineer and later as an engineering manager and director.

He has worked for successful startups in the healthcare, education, and cyber security space, including companies like HealthPay24, CECity, and Wombat Security Technologies. After Wombat’s acquisition by Proofpoint, Jason continued to build and manage engineering teams for Proofpoint for several years.
