For example, If an LLM generates HTML code that isn't properly sanitized, it could lead to a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability when displayed in a web application. 
  • Training Data Poisoning - Injecting malicious or biased data into the LLM's training set, causing it to generate harmful, inaccurate, or discriminatory outputs. For example, If an LLM is trained on data containing biased or discriminatory language, it might generate harmful or offensive outputs. 
  • Model Denial of Service - Overwhelming the LLM with excessive requests or computationally expensive prompts, making it unavailable to legitimate users. For example, Flooding an LLM with a large number of complex or computationally expensive prompts can overload its resources and make it unavailable to other users. 
  • Supply Chain Vulnerabilities - Exploiting weaknesses in the libraries, dependencies, or infrastructure used to build and deploy LLM applications, leading to unauthorized access or code execution. For example, A compromised library used in an LLM application could allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to the system or execute malicious code. 
  • Sensitive Information Disclosure - Inadvertently revealing confidential data or personally identifiable information (PII) through LLM-generated outputs. For example, an LLM might inadvertently reveal private information like credit card numbers or social security numbers if it is not properly trained to avoid such disclosures. 
  • Insecure Plugin Design - Flaws in LLM plugins that allow unauthorized access to system resources, data exfiltration, or privilege escalation. For example, A poorly designed plugin could allow attackers to bypass security measures and gain unauthorized access to sensitive data or system resources. 
  • Excessive Agency - Allowing the LLM to perform actions beyond its intended scope, leading to unintended consequences or security breaches. For example, Giving an LLM too much control over external systems or actions could lead to unintended consequences or security breaches. 
  • Overreliance - Blindly trusting LLM outputs without verification, exposing users to misinformation, manipulation, or security risks. For example, Blindly following instructions generated by an LLM without critical thinking or verification can expose users to misinformation, scams, or security risks. 
  • Model Theft - Unauthorized copying or replicating proprietary LLM models, potentially leading to financial loss or competitive disadvantage. For example, Unauthorized access to a proprietary LLM model can lead to financial loss or competitive disadvantage for the model's owner.
